Today we gave thanks to God for the blessing of coming to Alturas. We gave thanks to God for our sponsors because they are so generous! 

We ate “pinto” and a little while later we had competitions that included passing a ball into the hands of another person and seeing who arrived at the finish line. The girls won this time. Another game was of relays that they like a lot. Everybody had to run and handoff the object to his teammate until all got to the finish line. The boys won this game.

The little kids played blowing a little ball until the finish line. Everybody had a lot of fun. Afterwards, we gave them watermelon, which they love.

In Bible class, Jessika always gives the little ones their lesson, and the youth, Manuel, and Damaris give the adolescent class.

Manuel and Damaris spoke of John 14:13 that says that all that God’s children ask of the Father, He will do it if it is His will. We explained that God will always fulfill what He promised, but we must be obedient in everything and ask with faith. Parents love to give to their kids when they are obedient, and God is this way also as our earthly Father.

In English class, Amy interacted with them upon asking them questions in English, and they had to answer well with good pronunciation. 

Jessica talked to them about obedience to God. She gave them the example of Noah, and told them the story in which God talked to Noah and told him to make an ark and because Noah loved God, he started to build it even thought others made fun of him. Noah was so obedient that God saved him and his family and the animals from the flood.

In the application of God’s Word, we talked about that when we are obedient to God, God will bless us and also will bless us when we obey our parents and authorities. In the arts and crafts activity, we handed out drawings with an ark on it and the kids colored it in well.

Hoy dimos gracias a Dios por la bendición de venir a Alturas. Damos gracias a Dios por nuestros padrinos porque son tan generosos! 

 Desayunamos “pinto” y al rato tuvimos competencia que incluyeron pasar una bola en las manos del otro y ver quienes llegaban al final. Esta vez ganaron las chicas. Otro juego fue de relevos que le gustan mucho. Todos tenían que correr y relevará al compañero hasta que llegaran todos a la meta. En este juego, ganaron los chicos. Los más pequeños jugaron en soplar una bolita hasta llegar a la meta. Todos se divirtieron mucho.

Luego, les dimos sandía, que les fascinan a los chicos.

En la clase Bíblica, siempre Jessica da la lección a los pequeños y los jóvenes con Manuel y Damaris dan the clase a los jóvenes. 

Manuel y Damaris hablaron de Juan 14: 13 que dice que todo lo que pidieran al Padre, El lo hará si es en la voluntad de El. Les explicamos que Dios siempre cumple lo que promete pero debemos ser obedientes en todo y pedir con fe. Los papás se disfrutan dar a sus hijos cuando son obedientes y así es Dios también como nuestro Padre celestial.

En la clase de Inglés, Amy interactuó con ellos al hacerles preguntas en Inglés y ellos tenían que contestar bien con buena pronunciación. 

Jessica les hablo’ de la obediencia a Dios. Les puse de ejemplo a Noé y les conte’ la historia donde Dios le hablo’ a Noé y dijo que hiciera un arca y porque Noe’ amaba a Dios, el empezó a hacerlo aunque las personas se burlaban de el. Noe’ fue tan obediente que Dios salvo’ a el y su familia y a los animalitos del gran diluvio. En la aplicación de la Palabra de Dios, hablamos de que cuando somos obedientes a Dios, Dios nos va a bendicir y también cuando obedecemos a nuestros padres y autoridades. En la manualidad, repartimos dibujos del arca y los chicos pintaron muy lindo.

In Alturitas, we prayed for the kids and for their families, and we gave thanks to God for our sponsors, and we asked God to bless them greatly and supply all their needs. Afterwards, we prayed for the food, and gave thanks to God for everything in the name of Jesus. 

We reviewed Alturas’ rules in English and courtesy words, numbers, colors, and vowels. 

We reminded the kids about the importance of washing their hands, especially now. We ate “pinto” and afterwards, we played awhile and had competitions in teams. All the kids participated in making worms (that were made out of paper) move by blowing through a straw until they arrived at the goal. Also, we played with numbers that were written on top of colored circles.

In Bible class, we continued with the 10 Commandments that are the basis of all human relationships. God gave us these rules so that we could honor God and live in peace and harmony. Today we started with commandments 5-10:

5) “Honor your parents.”

We taught them that their fathers and mothers are the most important people in their lives and that the kids should respect them.

6 ) “You shall not kill.”

No one can take away the life of another- it is necessary to respect the lives of other human beings. 

7 ) “You shall not commit adultery.”

You must respect marriage.

8 ) “You shall not steal.”

You cannot ever take things that do not belong to you-it is necessary to respect what belongs to each person. 

9 ) “You shall not lie.”

We always must tell the truth.

10 ) “You shall not envy.”

Don’t be envious of the belongings that your neighbor has; for example, if you want the toys, or a bike of your friend or if you are jealous of your family or classmates. 

In the arts and crafts activity, the kids cut out two hands and glued circles with numbers 1-10 on them to remember the 10 Commandments. 

Then, we did something that was very beautiful. We had an exchange of medals by the kids that had a number 1 on them. This signified that God must always be number one in everything so that we can be successful in our lives.

En Alturitas, oramos por los niños y por sus familias y dimos gracias a Dios por nuestros patrocinadores, y le pedimos a Dios que bendiga grandemente a los patrocinadores y supla todas sus necesidades. Después, oramos por los alimentos y dimos gracias a Dios por todo en el nombre de Jesús.

Repasamos las reglas de Alturitas en inglés y palabras de cortesía, los números, los colores y las vocales. 

Recordamos a los niños la importancia de lavar sus manos, especialmente ahora. Comimos “pinto” y después jugamos un rato y hicimos competencias en equipo.

Todos los niños participaron en poner a mover gusanitos (hecho de papel) al soplarlos con una pajilla hasta llegar a la meta. También, jugamos con números que estuvieron escritos encima de circulitos de colores. 

En la clase de Biblia, seguimos con los 10 Mandamientos que son la base de todas las relaciones humanas. Dios nos dio’ estas reglas para que honramos a Dios vivamos en paz y armonía. Este día empezamos con mandamientos 5-10. 

5)"Honra a tus padres."

Les enseñamos que sus padres y madres son las personas más importantes en nuestras vidas y deben de respetarles. 

6)"No mates."

Nadie puede quitar la vida de otro- hay que respetar la vida de otros seres humanos.

7 )"No cometas adulterio.”

Hay que respetar el matrimonio. 

8 ) “No hurtaras."

Nunca tomes las cosas ajenas-hay que respetar lo que pertenece a cada persona.

9 ) “No mientas.”

Siempre debemos decir la verdad. 

10 ) “No codicies.”

No tenga envidia por las cosas que tiene tu prójimo; por ejemplo, si quieres tener los juguetes o la bici de tu amiguito o si tienes celos de tu familia o compañeros de la escuela. 

En la manualidad, los chicos recortaron dos manos y pegaron círculos con los números del 1 al 10 para recordar los 10 mandamientos. 

Luego, hicimos algo que era muy lindo. Hicimos un intercambio de medallas hechas por los niños en sus casas que tenían el número 1 en ella. Eso significaba que Dios siempre debe ser el número 1 en todo para que tengamos éxito en nuestras vidas.

Today was a beautiful day! We prayed for our sponsors, and we thanked God for the blessing of being in Alturas. We ate “gallo pinto.”

In English lesson, we played a game that consisted of numbers on papers. Each child had to form a team of 5 to make a number that we asked for; for example, 54,321. Then the kids had to say the number in English. We reviewed bigger numbers like hundred, thousand, etc.

Also, they played ball while others played with PlayDoh. We had tutoring during the Math lesson to help the kids to pass a test in high school. It was very hot, but the kids behaved so well that we bought them a reward: ice cream! Their favorite treat!

In the Bible lesson, we talked about the most powerful weapon, which is the Bible. The Bible gives us arms to govern our lives, especially as far as our emotions go. 

We drew a hand where we showed benefits that God gives us: God helps us, God fills our needs, God gives us peace, He speaks to us every day, and God fulfills all that we ask if it is according to His will.

Hoy fue un día muy lindo! Oramos por nuestros patrocinadores y agradecimos a Dios por la bendición de estar en Alturas.  Desayunamos “gallo pinto.” 

En la lección de inglés, jugamos un juego que consistía de números en papelitos. Cada niño tuvo que formar un equipo de 5 para hacer el número que solicitamos; por ejemplo, el número 54,321. Entonces los niños tuvieron que decir el número en inglés. Repasamos números mayores como cien, mil, etc. También, jugaron bola mientras otros jugaron con plasticina. Dimos tutoría en la lección de matemáticas para ayudar a los chicos pasar una prueba en el colegio.

Estaba haciendo tanto calor pero los chicos se portaron tan bien que les compramos un premio: helado! Su premio favorito! 

En la lección bíblica, hablamos acerca del arma más poderosa que tenemos, la cual es la Biblia.  La Biblia nos da armas para gobernar nuestras vidas, especialmente en cuanto a nuestras emociones. 

Dibujamos una mano donde mostramos los beneficios que Dios nos da: Dios nos atiende, Dios llena nuestras necesidades, nos da paz, nos habla todos los días y Dios cumple de todo lo que pedimos si es de acuerdo a Su voluntad.
