In Alturitas, the kids were very happy because we changed the bus service that transported the kids. The bus is more comfortable, and the kids rejoiced at this change.
We prayed and thanked God for each of the kids, and also for the sponsors so that the Lord continues blessing each one of them, and for the food.
We announced that September is “country month,” in which we celebrate Costa Rica’s independence.
We ate breakfast, and we learned in Bible class about two brothers called Cain and Abel.
The older brother, Cain, became a farmer, and the younger brother, Abel, was a sheep pastor. These two brothers were very different from each other as far as what they liked to do.
Cain was always busy working on his lands, and he liked to cultivate the land with a lot of effort in order to make the plants and flowers grow. Abel was a pastor and liked taking care of sheep.
Cain and Abel knew that it was important to bring gifts, called sacrifices or offerings, to God certain times of the year because their parents taught them how to show love and respect to God.
When it was the moment to take the offering to the Lord, Cain took what he had reaped in his lands, but this was not what God wanted for him to bring Him.
Abel brought some of the first born of his herd, just as God has taught Him, and God was pleased with Abel’s offering, but not with Cain’s offering.
This made Cain mad, and one day he was very jealous of his brother because God had been pleased with Abel’s offering.
We taught the kids about envy, and that they should not be envious amongst themselves because envy brings sadness and anger.
They learned that they should love their brothers and sisters and friends and classmates to avoid being envious because envy does not please God. The kids must know that it is very important to please God with our good works, and that God likes it and is pleased with our obedience.
We learned all this from Genesis 4:1-16. They learned that they can love by sharing with others and helping out their classmates.
At the end of the lesson, the kids learned about something ugly that Cain did. Cain killed his brother due to the envy that he had towards him, and he hid from God. God asked him what he had done, and Cain lied to God saying they he did not know where his brother was.
The kids learned that it is impossible to lie to God because He knows all things.
The kids did an arts and crafts activity with a drawing of Cain and Abel.
In English class, we sang the family song called “Baby Shark.”
We reviewed the days of the week, colors, the seasons, greetings, and other things, and we rewarded them with a delicious piece of candy if they answered correctly in English.
In Math class, we gave them a small exam. They matched the quantity of objects with the numbers and colored in the correct answer.
We had delicious spaghetti, and the kids were very happy!

En Alturitas, los niños estuvieron muy felices porque cambiamos el servicio de microbús que transportaba los niños. Este microbus es más cómodo y los niños se gozaron de este cambio.
Oramos y dimos gracias a Dios por cada uno de los niños y también por los padrinos para que el Señor siga bendiciendo a cada uno y para la comida.
Anunciamos que septiembre es “el mes de la patria” en el cual celebramos la independencia de Costa Rica.
Desayunamos y después aprendimos con la enseñanza bíblica de dos hermanos llamados Caín y Abel.
El hermano mayor, Caín, se hizo agricultor y el hermano menor, Abel, era pastor de ovejas. Estos dos hermanos eran muy diferentes uno del otro en cuanto a lo que les gustaba hacer.
Caín siempre estaba ocupado trabajando en la obra de sus tierras y le gustaba labrar la tierra con mucho esfuerzo para hacer crecer las plantas y las flores. Abel era un pastor y le gustaba cuidar bien sus ovejas.
Cain y Abel sabían qué era importante traer regalos, llamado sacrificios u ofrendas, a Dios en ciertos momentos del año porque sus padres les enseñaron cómo mostrar su amor y respeto a Dios.
Cuando era el momento de llevar su ofrenda al Señor, Caín llevo’ de lo que había cosechado en sus tierras, pero esto no era lo que Dios quería que el trajera.
Abel trajo algunos de los primogénitos de su rebaño, tal como se le había enseñado Dios y Dios se complació con la ofrenda de Abel pero no complació con la de Caín.
Esto lo hizo enojar a Caín y un día tuvo mucha envidia de su hermano porque Dios había complacido en la ofrenda de Abel.
Enseñamos a los niños sobre la envidia y que no debe haber envidia entre ellos porque la envidia nos trae tristeza y enojo.
Aprendieron que deben amar a los hermanos y a los amiguitos y a los compañeros de la escuela para evitar tener envidia porque la envidia no agrada a Dios. Los niños deben de saber qué es muy importante agradar a Dios con buenas obras y que a Dios le gusta y que se complace con nuestra obediencia.
Todo esto lo aprendimos de Génesis 4 del 1 al 16. Aprendieron que ellos pueden amar al compartir con otros y ayudar a sus compañeros en la escuela.
Al final de la lección, los niños aprendieron sobre algo muy feo que Caín hizo. Caín mató a su hermano por la envidia que él tenía y se escondió de Dios. Dios preguntó a Caín qué había hecho y Caín mintió a Dios al decir que no sabía nada de dónde estaba su hermano.
Los niños aprendieron que es imposible mentir a Dios porque El sabe todas las cosas.
Los niños hicieron una manualidad con un dibujo sobre Caín y Abel.
En la clase de inglés, cantamos la canción de la familia llamado “Baby Shark.”
Repasamos los días de la semana, los colores, los estados del tiempo, los saludos y varias otras cosas más y los premiaba con un rico dulce si ellos contestaron las respuestas correctamente en inglés.
En la clase de matemáticas, se les realizaron un examen corto. Ellos asociaron la cantidad de objetos con los números y pintaron la respuesta correcta.
Almorzamos un rico espagueti y estuvieron muy contentos los niños!
